Bishopric . . .

Last Sunday, July 14 I received the following text message:

"I can't talk now but you should know that they want to make me a High Priest"

My reply later in the day:    "Can you talk now?"

His reply:   "No"  then my reply:  "Why not?"   which was then followed by a phone call from Theron.

Needless to say, Stephen and I have just returned from being in Vancouver, WA over the weekend.  We had the privilege of being in sacrament when Theron was sustained to be the 2nd counselor in the Bishopric.  Upon that sustaining, he was then again sustained to receive the ordinance of becoming a High Priest.  I was perfectly calm until Theron was asked to stand and be sustained.  I don't know what came over me at that very moment but it was a precious feeling and really emotional for me and for Theron.  The new 1st counselor and 2nd counselors were then asked to join the Bishop on the stand.  Later both men bore their testimonies.  Theron was quiet emotional but did a great job.  The Bishop ended the meeting with a few remarks and gladly passed the baton of being the official cry baby from him to Theron.  Heidi's dad, Dale Barnes, did the ordination of High Priest and gave Theron a wonderful blessing.  Again, lots of emotion and tears.  I think Theron is feeling a little overwhelmed right now but he will do a great job.

It's been a long time coming . . .

We finally have a headstone/monument for Mom and Dad.

Robin and I did the designing.  We picked a red granite because dad's favorite color is red and we picked a bench style because that is what dad really wanted.  We put the birds on it because us kids (except for Larry, sorry) all have bird names.  The heart behind the Salt Lake Temple with a rose border because mom loved all of these.  The side vases are for flowers but we had them engraved to reflect dad and his famous saying and mom's to reflect what dad always called her.

The lower view is the back and it list us four children and all of our children - a little genealogy as mom was into doing family genealogy.

I think it has turned out beautifully.  It'll be a surprise to dad and we hope to have it installed by the time he comes to Rexburg in June.

Leighton Olivia Leavitt

The newest grandbaby joined the family on Jan 21. She weighed 7 lbs 13 oz, and 20 inches. Her older siblings are in love with her!

On Greg's side of the family we had two babies born in December. Most of Greg's family was able to come to Gilbert and we decided that we would bless the babies so that we could all be there.

So far Leighton is a pretty good baby, but she doesn't like to fall asleep or stay asleep. None of my babies have. She does sleep good at night most of the time so I'll take the endless hours during the day. Her older siblings are in love with her and like to hold her and help get things for her. Kenzington has already tried to feed her a poptart! Can't believe Leighton is almost a month already.

Kenzington turned one this last weekend, so we had a little family birthday party for her. I made her a care bear cake.
She wasn't sure if she liked the cake at first but finally decided it wasn't so bad.
Opening presents:
Overall she had a pretty good birthday and got some fun stuff, although I think Axton has played with them more! Happy Birthday Kenzington!

Settled in:

This is a picture of the house that Theron and Heidi are renting in Vancouver WA.  Talked with Theron last night and they seem to be all settled in and Theron is loving his new job.
