Charcot Foot:

This is what Stephen has been diagnosed with. Yes, you guessed it - Stephen is back in a boot for his left foot. The foot is not broken but is swollen and all black and blue from the big toe to the heal. Dr put him back in the boot and off work for 10 days (Jan 24 - Feb 4), he had a follow up today and still no improvement so now he is off work for a month!

I don't know where this will lead us, what path we will now travel but I'm trying to keeping my chin up.

Here is more information from the internet:

Oh my goodness! Sorry to hear about this. It's amazing what challenges pop up for us to deal with. Is Stephen having pain with this? My best to you both.

Tiffany - because of Stephen's neuropathy, he doesn't know when he has hurt his feet or when he has over used them. Finally, he has so much pain that we start investigating and sure enough, he's got bruising and swelling. On the the other hand, we check his feet daily - but the bruising doesn't show up until 3 or 4 days after he has hurt it and in the meantime has continued to work as normal just making the situation that much worse.
